CC3120: CC3120: RadioTool version 1.0.3.10 connection fail

Hello

Our customer tried again and had the Radio tool connection fail issue again.

	Radiotool version	1st failure	2nd failure	3rd failure
Customer production test board	1.0.3.7	238 times	294 times	387 times
Customer production test board	1.0.3.10	360 times	674 times	665 times
TI CC3120 BOOST (Rev.A) + CC31XX FTDI DEBUG BRD (2.0A)	1.0.3.10	160 trimes	669 times	336 times

I am now trying to reprocude the issue with CC3120BOOST + CC31XXEMUBOOST v3.0 ,
but not reproduced yet.
I will continue to try but do you have any advice to avoid this issue at this stage because the customer will start the mass production soon, this issue might impact to that.

Akihiko,

How are you performing this test? are you using the Radio Tool CLI to issue the connect command multiple times? how much of a delay is between these? After the error occurs, does it keep occurring or are you able to connect on the next attempt?

Hello Vince,

I could reproduce the issue with CC3120 LaunchPad at 83 times connect/diconnect trial.
I used simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_3_20_00_06 with RadioTool v1.0.3.10 GUI.

The operation is just press the Connect/Disconnect button alternately.

When the issue happned,
1) Disconnect button is grayed out and Radio Tool becomes no response.
2) Radiotool forced terminated , then restart the Radiotool, the connect button worked and connect to the Launchpad well.

When above issue happned, the green LED is keeping on.

For your question, our customer uses neither GUI nor CLI.

they input the command sequence directly to DLL because this is the special factory tool for their mass procution.

Also , they added some information as bellow.

Akihiko,

This has been documented as bug, but i don't have a good timeline on when it will be fixed. How is the customer using radio tool on the production line? This tool was designed for compliance and certification testing, so if you are looking to do some sort of testing on the production floor, i would take a look at our PLG for some insight: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra568/swra568.pdf
