CC3200MOD: Wi-Fi connection

Hi,

www.ti.com/.../TIDC-CC3200-VIDEO

I've tried to connect a EVM of above link to Wi-Fi, but I cannot.

I think I have to connect it to AP and then get its IP address. As it does not have a USB port, I am wondering how to set it up.

Do I have to connect it and PC? If so, how can I do?

Please give me your advice.

Hi Ishibashi,

You need to connect the EVM to a CC3200 launchpad in order to allow you to access the device over USB. See the instructions in section 2.3 of the user's guide:

By the way, the CC3200MOD version of that design is a bit obsolete. It is recommended that you use the CC3220 version instead. See the document here for more details on the CC3220 version of the OV788 design:

I could connect it to a CC3200 launchpad and also to my PC.

I'm now trying to rewrite source code in CC3200SDK_1.4.0 to change which host a CC3200MOD connects to.

Hi Ishibashi,

The CC3200 video demo features provisioning. You should use the SimpleLink Starter Pro app to provision the CC3200 to your local Wi-Fi network Instructions on how to use the app can be found at this wiki page:

Alternatively, you can also use Uniflash to preset the Wi-Fi AP config:

There shouldn't be any other network-specific config necessary on the CC3200 to allow for a connection from a phone/tablet to the CC3200 and stream video.
