CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: TI Macbook Simplelink SDK installer (simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_3_30_00_04) will not run until...

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL

I recently migrated to the new MacOS release (Catalina) and see that the TI Macbook Simplelink SDK installer (simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_3_30_00_04) will not run until TI provides changes that allow MacOS Catalina to confirm the installer is not malware. Also, TI's download instructions request that either sw_export_form@list.ti.com or sw_export2@list.ti.com be used to report problems; I took the time to do that only to receive an automated email back from TI saying those email address have been discontinued and pointing me instead to the web form at http://www.ti.com/support, which after taking the time to fill it out resulted in a TI reply indicating that I need to instead submit my problem report to e2e.ti.com/.../addpost which I am doing this instant. Screen shot attatched.

  • Hi Steve,

The installer incompatibility with Catalina is a known issue. We expect to have a new installer soon, likely this week. In the meantime, if you have a Windows or Linux computer, you should be able to install the package there and move the SDK and XDC folders over manually.

I'll check with our web team on those download instructions. Thanks for letting us know!

    Best regards,

    Sarah

  • I'll look forward to trying out a new Simplelink SDK installer when it becomes available this week. It will also be important that the TI HomeKit Plugin installer for MacOS/Catalina work as well. Can you please insure that those are getting the necessary attention too? Thank you. (for example SIMPLELINK-SDK-WIFI-PLUGIN-FOR-HOMEKIT).

  • Hi Steve,

Just an update that we're working on the updated Mac installer for the CC32xx SDK, and it won't be available until early next week. The latest HomeKit plugin should already support Catalina.

    Best regards,

    Sarah

  • Hi Steve,

The new CC32xx SDK is live! Please give it a try and let me know if you have any issues.

    Best regards,
