CC3200: Amazon Kinesis: DTLS, WebRTC in the TI pipeline?

Part Number: CC3200

Hi, the related question was asking about WebRTC support, and e2e.ti.com/.../817169 enquiring about DTLS also due to WebRTC.

AWS Kinesis Video Streams supports WebRTC set up with ICE and it also provides TURN servers; UDP would be a common method of connecting two NAT'd peers and thus DTLS is desirable alongside WebRTC.  aws.amazon.com/.../

So I'm wondering if DTLS has appeared on TI's radar for the CC3220 since the above forum threads, and given TI's support for Amazon FreeRTOS, and general AWS integration, a Kinesis example would also be good.  :-)

  • Hi Ralph,

Having an official release in the SDKs is not currently in the plans (looking at the next couple quarters). We have worked with developers in the past that have brought up DTLS by porting it from something like mbedtls to our secure socket APIs.I think that's the best route to go for now.

We will go ahead and bring this up with the team as a discussion point when planning future releases though.

    Best Regards,

    Ben M
