WL1807MOD: How to set up 11g/11j when using as station side

Hello Expert,

We are using WL1807MOD in both access point and station side.

In station side(use wpa_supplicant), we do not know how to limit the connection to 11g(2.4GHz) or 11j(4.9GHz) only.

Do you know how to limit the connection of station side to 11g(2.4GHz) only access point or 11j(4.9GHz) only access point?

We are using TI_SDK ｖ4.2.0.6、hostapd、wpa_supplicant version v2.5-devel

Hi,

WiLink8 Hardware supports 802.11j and it is verified at the RF level but our wireless software stack doesn't support it.

Sorry for my wrong question.

In Station mode , our customer wants only to connect to 11g (2.4GHz) AP or 11j (4.9GHz) AP.

Can user set this limitation by driver change or configuration setting?

Hi,

We have not tested enabling of 11j /4.9 GHz channels from software stack / supplicant level .

Thanks, can you help clarify the following questions?

1) WL1807 supports 11j STA function but not fully tested , correct?

If that’s the case, how they can set only 11j enabled?

2) How they can set only 11g (2.4GHz) on WL1807 supplicant?

Hi ,

You cannot set WL18xxMOD in 802.11a mode only . 802.11bg mode is always enabled

You can disable 802.11a mode by configuring number of 5 GHz antennas to 0 https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WiLink8_WLAN_Demo:_Linux#Configuring_the_Target
