For the purpose of updating the image, our company has bought the Code signed certificate from DigiCert one year ago.
This certificate (Name Ayr Limited on the picture below) is placed in the folder /1/ when we build a new OTA update package. And of course, our build server signs mcuflashimg.bin using the private key (Ayr Limited.key). This key is the pair for Ayr Limited certificate
This certificate expiration date is the 27th of July 2020.
So now I'm trying to understand how can I update the certificate on the units that already produced?
If I buy the new one is it possible to update it on the existed units?
In the datasheet swra509b I've found the following note:
Does it mean that it is not absolutely necessary to update this certificate and it will work after the expiration date (after the 27th of July 2020 in my case)? And can we proceed to use the old one?
It's quite important for us to make sure about our already produced units will work after that date.
And of course, I should be able to manage certificate updating on the existed units after producing if the old key has been compromised.
Can you help me to update?
