CC3120MOD: Get MAC address of the AP

Hi,

I use CC3120MOD in STA role.

I would like to obtain the MAC address of the AP, the NWP is connected to.

For this purpose I use sl_WlanProfileGet and expect to see MAC address of the AP in out parameters of the API pMacAddr.

The application saw only data for pName and pNameLen.

In swru455j say, that for security reasons only public information of the profile is included.

The MAC address is a public.

What could be the reason?

Hi,

If you need to read MAC address of currently connected AP (that mean BSSID) you shoud use event SimpleLinkWlanEventHandler() SL_WLAN_EVENT_CONNECT.

Reading BSSID from connection profile is not a proper way how to obtain.

Yes I can read the MAC address in the event handler, but is the information is available using sl_WlanProfileGet ? Only for information.

Hi,

In profile can be stored BSSID in case you want to connect to one exact AP (that means you have multiple APs with same SSID but different BSSIDs).
