CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: Running SysConfig Standalone on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Linux

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, SYSCONFIG

Hi, I've installed

  • ccs_setup_9.2.0.00013.bin
  • simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_3_30_01_02.run
  • uniflash_sl.5.2.0.2519.run

on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Linux. Similarly to the macOS question I've linked to, I wish to run the SysConfig GUI standalone, not as part of CCS (Eclipse), or IAR. The documentation states this is possible, but I've failed to work out how.

~/ti/ccs920/ccs/utils/sysconfig/sysconfig_cli.sh works for the command-line version, so Node is found correctly.

Thanks, Ralph.

  • Ralph,

Interesting; it works for me if I download the standalone package. Perhaps there is a dependency missing.

Does it throw any sort of error?

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Hi Rafael, Thanks, your mention of the 'standalone package' was the clue I needed.

Having installed the three files I mentioned above, I found SysConfig executables and thought all three versions were available: command-line, CCS-integrated, and standalone GUI. I've now installed sysconfig-1.3.1030-setup.run and have a working standalone GUI version. Reading the SysConfig guide, I didn't appreciate that the different versions it described didn't come from a single install.

BTW, says 'Current Version v1.2.952 but on following the Download link to it provides Version 1.3.1030.

  • Ralph,

Thank you for notifying us of the discrepancy between the latest version number available and the version mentioned in the tool folder page http://www.ti.com/tool/SYSCONFIG

I have notified the concerned folks who can get this fixed.

Thanks again and I am glad you are able to move forward with using the standalone SysConfig tool.
