CC3230S: libdecodeqr

Part Number: CC3230S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

We are looking at “libdecodeqr” which is used widely with MCUs for QR code scanner. Would like to know, if you have any reference / application note for QR code scanning using image sensor, either with CC3230 or other MCUs.

Also, we have gone through Launchpad for CC3200 series. Suggest suitable camera adaptor EVK for this board.

  • Hi Saurabh,

We unfortunately do not have a reference of using the libdecodeqr library or for a QR code scanner/decoder in general. You will need to investigate the dependencies and code/memory footprint of that library to see if it will work with the 256KB of RAM available on the CC3230.

As for a camera setup with the CC3230, there is this example of an Omnivision sensor interfaced with the CC32xx device that may be of use:

That solution is primarily a video capture solution though, which may be exceeding the scope of your application. There is this also obsolete HW guide that describes interfacing a camera module with the CC3200: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru384/

If that solution seems to be of interest, please reach out to me internally and I can see what options there are to share with you the details on that solution as well as further technical guidance.

    Regards,
