CC3235SF: How does uartParams.readTimout works in UART communication?

Hi TI,

I'm suffering in my UART communication, so that I would like to ask few questions related to it, could you please explain me what is the role of uartParams.readTimeout and what is the unit of it, I read somewhere it is system ticks, if that is correct then let me know how can I pass time in milliseconds, is there any function in cc3235sf to do so?.

And another think I'm not able to control this UART driver, always connection is breaking after sometime. I'm using it for rs485 communication.

I'm getting advice from my team that write your own driver.when you will do that at register level you will get full command over it.

Can I do at register level like msp430g2553?

Please answer my questions.
