I am considering using the CC2530 in one of our modules, which means we would need software tools for an 8051-based processor. I know TI's Z-stack software works with the IAR tools. Do you know if it also works with TI's Code Composer Studio, or other third-party tools?
The TI ZStack libraries are only available as compiled by IAR.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

CCS does not support any 8051 variants.

I still dont understand why TI did not use an MSP430 as a core instead of 8051 for CC2530, been able to be programmed with CCS, a TI tool and not an external one. So strange for a so big company.

The cc series of chips came from chipcon which did not have the msp430 core. Texas Instruments purchased chipcon and has maintained the family with the 8051 core. The newest 2538 chip includes an ARM core instead of the 8051.
