Hi!

I'm trying to use the CC Debugger in order to flash the CC2531 EMK USB Dongle. When I'm connecting both the LED of the CC Debugger stays red - i.e. it can't detect the chip of the connected device. The SmartRF Flash Programme displays N/A in the field for the chip in the "Program Evaluation Board" mode. In the "Program CCxxxxx SoC or MSP430" mode nothing is listed. I already updated the firmware on the CC debugger but without any effect. The dongle itself seem to bo ok - as the sniffer demo is working.

I think the question is:

- Is it a defect of one system element (cable/dongle/debugger)? How to find out which one is affected or should I sent in all parts for replacement?

- Or is it a problem of the software - how to find proceed here?

Do you plug in your CC2531EMK to USB socket of PC to give power to it?

Yes - I've powered it using the USB socket of my PC

Try to reverse the cable between CC Debugger and CC2531EMK. If you still have problem, please take a picture how you connect CC Debugger with CC2531EMK.

The connection looks fine. Do you have another CC2531 or CC2530? If yes, can you connect your CC Debugger to another CC2531 or CC2530 to verify CC Debugger is not broken.

By the way, do you try to reverse or change the cable between CC Debugger and CC2531?

I had reversed the cable. Unfortunately I have no additional devices/cables here that I could use to determine the broken element.

If you buy these CC2531EMK and CC Debugger from TI store, you can try to ask for replacement. You can refer to www.ti.com/.../gencontent.tsp.

Hi Johannes,

One additional simple question. When you have everything connected and you press reset button on the CC debugger is the LED still staying RED. Just to double check.

I had also pressed reset multiple times - but the LED stays red.
