CC2538: ZigBee Coordinator doesn't handle Update Device message during joining procedure

Part Number: CC2538
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, Z-STACK,

Hi,

we have developed a ZC (CC2538) and a ZR (CC2530) based on Z-Stack 3.0.1.

In our test we want to join more device as possible, including third-parties ZEDs.

As you can see in the attached sniffing session, about 60 devices are connected. But when I try to connect another ZR, it want to join through another ZR. So the ZR already into the network sends an Update Device to the ZC, but it not sends any response.

So no device can join the network.

Can you help me, please?

Thanks,
Antonio

  • Antonio,

Thank you for attaching a sniffer log, it is very useful for debugging.

I've got a couple of questions. First, is this device that is unable to join the network always unable to join? Or depending on the order of the devices joining, is it a different device at different times? I see that the Coordinator sends a Leave Request for the device which is being newly added into the network. For the ZC, which project are you running on it?

I've noticed that the device 00:12:4B:00:12:C3:00:2A is the device that is giving you issues, are you running an example project on this device? (I am assuming this is a CC2530)?

    Best,
    Sean
  • There are lots of packets in your sniffer log. I would suggest you to elaborate and specify where/which packets to check your issue.
