LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: Motion sensor product(TIDA-01476) with CC2652

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01476, CC1310

Hi TI team,

If I want to use the motion sensor of TIDA-01476 on the CC2652. Do you have any software documents/user guide for the TIDA-01476 or example code?

Thanks

  • You can find information about the software used here: e2e.ti.com/.../660945

Since you are using a 2.4 GHz device and the TI design uses sub 1-GHz/ he 15.4 stack the RF part of the SW will be different.
  • All of the documents are inside www.ti.com/.../TIDA-01476
  • Hi YK,
I also tried to find some software documents inside the link of www.ti.com/.../TIDA-01476.
But I just found a lots of hardware design. I did not found any user guide for the software(ex: how to read motion data...etc)
    Thanks
  • The software is in the link I posted
  • Hi TER,
Because I will use the zigbee to transmit motion data, I know there are some differences between sub 1-Ghz.
Now, I just want to check some software document about the motion sensor and how to read the motion data from the motion sensor or how the motion sensor work/operate in software site? I do not want to get a firmware of CC1310 with the motion sensor of TIDA-01476.

Could I ask another question as well?
Do we need to upgrade the firmware of motion sensor on the TIDA-01476? In my opinion, I think we do not need to upgrade the firmware of motion sensor on the TIDA-01476.
    Thanks

  • Even if you plan to use zigbee you should be able to reuse a fair part of the software flow chart in figure 9 in www.ti.com/.../tiduda8.pdf. The RF part has to be converted but checking the status of the PIR is the same. For detail, clone the git repo.

Not sure what you mean by your question about upgrading the firmware since as you point out the firmware is written for CC1310 and you intend to use CC2652.
  • Hi TER,
My questions about the "upgrading the firmware of motion sensor". It means whether there are any firmware that run on the motion sensor(TIDA-01476) or the motion sensor can work without any firmware on it?

Because I know we need to upgrade firmware for the MCU(CC2652) but I think there are no any firmware need to be used/upgraded on the motion sensor. Am I right or I miss somethings?

By the way, I also downloaded the source code of TIDA-01476. And I found there are two zip(TIDA-01476 Archive.zip and TIDA-01476 Collector Archive.zip) inside it. Could I know which one  I need to refer it? And what's the difference between TIDA-01476 Archive.zip and TIDA-01476 Collector Archive.zip?

    Thanks

  • The motion sensor part is analog and does not need any firmware.

As I read the TI design the software shows different method to send out the data (sensor to cloud or 15.4) . Since you are mainly interested in the non RF part this part should be fairly similar in both software packets.
  • Hi TER,
You means I can refer to either one of software packets(TIDA-01476 Archive.zip and TIDA-01476 Collector Archive.zip)? And which one is using for 15.4
    Thanks

  • Yes. I haven't read the documentation for this in detail but I got the impression that it's fairly clear which software is which.
  • HI TER,
I will try to study the source code and test it.
    Thanks
