Hi TI team,

I knew TI's Z-stack will take care of retries and the default is MAC acks.

Could I know what the interval of retries are for MAC acks? The interval means that how long the Z-stack will do retires.

If you mean to know how long a nwk message would wait for an mac ack, it's defined by macAckWaitDuration which is 54 symbol periods (0.864 ms).

Hi YK,
I checked my macAckWaitDuration is 0x40. How to calculate this Hex into ms?
By the way, the interval means that next retries after I send a data and I do not receive any mac acks.

If I am not wrong, z-stack use "{offsetof(macPib_t, ackWaitDuration), sizeof(uint8), 54, 54}, /* MAC_ACK_WAIT_DURATION */" in hmac_global.c for MAC_ACK_WAIT_DURATION

Hi Lawrence,

The data rate for 2.4 GHz operation is 250 kbps. Four data bits are transferred during each symbol period. A symbol period is, therefore, 16 microseconds. 54 * 16 = 864. Internal Stack timing is based off of the symbol period. This value is defined in the IEEE 802.15.4 Standard and should not be altered.

It means if I do not receive any MAC acks within the time of 864ms after I send a data, the TI's Z-stack will retry to send the data again?? Am I right?
