Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2538, CC2652R, CC2531EM-IOT-HOME-GATEWAY-RD, Z-STACK-ARCHIVE
Dear All,
I'm involved in developing a gateway for ZigBee devices, the question is about what is the better rf chip to use, I see lot of documentation around CC2530 chip and this one is also widely used from various manufacturer to build your own gateway.
Question is about if is better use the CC2530F256 mature device or the CC2538, one things get me doubt around this question was that the CC2530DK seems obsolete on the big electronic distributors source (Mouser, Farnell, Digi-Key) so this drive to me in found some alternative and I've see the CC2538 SoC. Of course if someone have some others suggest I'm totally open to evaluate it!!
Main difference between this two chip is into the Flash and the RAM, either bigger into the CC2538 and also the ability into the CC2538 to support OTA.
So I kindly ask if someone have many idea about these comparison and what should be the better choice for a long term support and if all the code written for the CC2530 may be compatible also for the CC2538. On the TI site I'm unable to found any reference to the CC2539Dk so it bring me to think that this device will not supported on some not so far but may be wrong.
Any help about the subject are appreciated!
Thanks!
Best regards
Fabio
