How to select the most suitable wireless technology from a known use case. Looking for a methodology / procedure

Dear forum members,

I am currently trying to answer the question how manufacturing companies should implement or develop their transmission technology infrastructure based on their use cases of data transmission scenarios.
This includes:
- How can a uniform procedure be used to determine from a specific use case which transmission technology (LTE, 5G, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Z-Wave, WireHART, NFC etc.) would be most suitable for this use case? Is there any concept? The intended number of technologies put into consideration is about 20.
- Is there a reference architecture with a special focus on transmission technologies where the problem is particularly well represented?

I know this question cannot be answered in general. But I am looking for conceptual ideas (methodologies/procedures) that deliver a solution which is more or less right! 
Do you have any ideas on how to solve this problem, for example in the form of a literature recommendation? That would be great!
