Hi,

Does anyone know what does status codes 0x10 and 0x1a coming from CC2531 ZNP mean?

My CC2531 is running as a coordinator, using a standard non-modified HA1.2 Z-stack. In the above situation, instructed the ZNP to send a ZCL command to an end device. 6 seconds later, a response finally come back with a status of 0x10, then immediately after, a DataConf response with status 0x1a.

What would cause this? Is this because of an end device problem or ZNP somehow rejects the ZCL command sent?

Hi hobieboy,

You can view the Monitor and Test API for a greater understanding of returned status messages, or ZComDef.h or mac_api.h for similar investigations. 0x10 reflects a memory failure (afStatus_MEM_FAIL) and 0x1A specifies that no memory resources are available (MAC_NO_RESOURCES). So there could be a memory leak in your ZNP project. This is possible given the Z-STACK-ARCHIVE HA 1.2.2a solution has not been updated for many years compared to the Z-Stack 3.0.2 solution. Also likely could be that the ZED is not sending data requests at a quick enough rate such that the ZNP does not time out and discard the message (APSC_ACK_WAIT_DURATION_POLLED).

Thanks for the info Ryan. I did see status code 0x10 in ZComDef.h but didn't know what constituted a memory failure...

But in my case, the strange part is: when this happens, even if I reset/restart the ZNP, issue persists until I factory reset the end device to it rejoins the coondinator. Hence I am wondering if it is an issue on the end device rather than the ZNP (coordinator).

It sounds like the ZED has stopped sending data request polls (or operating in general) but you would have to sniff the network traffic to confirm this. https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/zigbee-and-thread/f/158/t/699648
