Hello,

I am researching on mesh networks using TI zigbee nodes.

I was using TI packet sniffer and in first packet (when Coordinator is powered up) i couldn't understand the APS layer payload. Is there any document for understanding these packets formation and sequence.

TI packet sniffer is very basic. If you want to better parsing APS payload, I would suggest you to use ubiqua sniffer. You can download Trial version from http://www.ubilogix.com/products/ubiqua.

Thanks for your kind reply. I was using CC2530EM with Smart RF05EB with packet sniffer and I don't have CC2531. Now tell me if this software can be used with above combination?

Dear Chen,

I have one more problem. I am using TI MAC to do some experiments with CC2530. I am using IAR workbench with version 7.51a. When I installed TI MAC 1.5.0 (get it from TI website) and load the test program, it gave me following message

" Broken option were detected in project file...................."

and in lower window I have this:

LOAD: Configuration 'Normal' in the project 'msa_cc2530' contains broken options for tool 'General':

The format of this file is not supported by this version of the workbench. It appears to have been written by a newer version of the workbench.

Please advice for solution.

That means your IAR is obsolete. Please use a newer.

Dear Chen,

I burned my code in CC2530, now this time with TI MAC. Everything worked fine. I want to use UART as i idd with zigbee stack to send report. I copied the files from sensor demo software to msa_cc2530 and it is compiled ok after few errors. I am pinging it with same packet as done by Sensor monitor software but it is not responding.

Please help, may be i have to do some setting for UART port like int enable etc.

I have no idea about what you are doing now. What do you mean that you copy files from sensor demo to msa_cc2530? Sensor demo is based on ZStack and it shouldn't work if you move it to TIMAC.

I want to have UART capability of my device that is currently running the msa_CC2530 sample application program. I want to connect my device to PC USB for serial communication as I did with sensor demo program (zigbee stack).

I hope you follow and advice about settings for msa_CC2530 program so that it can handle serial data.

If you want to apply the same UART function in sensor demo to msa_CC2530, there should be no problem. What's is you problem now?

Dear Chan,

I am in problem again. I am using TI MAC and i want to by bass the CSMA. I tried it by making BE min and max to zero but nothing happens. Please guide how to by pass CSMA.

If I remember correct, the TI-MAC is built to the IEEE802.15.4 spec that includes CSMA. So CSMA can't be turned off.
