Hi,

I am facing problem of continuous reset in my custom device.

The issue occurs in following scenario...

1. Set of devices(ZR) paired with ZC.

2. Then ZC alone made OFF, ZR's remains ON (NV_RESTORE Enabled)

3. Another device(ZR) will be powered up and it will search for the network. (FYI-We made an LED blink for searching network, one the device is connected with ZC, ZR will stop the blinking)

i) New ZR stops blinking in 2 blinks, then after 10 secs device getting reset.

Why the device getting reset and how to make the device to do not reset.

Is this default behavior of the ZigBee? Means, how ZR will react when paired set of ZR's are there but no ZC.

Please correct me if I am wrong. " The paired devices will have the network, new device will try to connect with the particular network, but it's not able to join or acknowledged by ZC so new device rejected from the network so new device getting restarted and searches again for the network"

This is usually caused by device cannot get correct network key when it joins Zigbee network.

Yes. But I want to handle the load correctly. Because my ZR is switch, which can handle the household appliances. So the resetting should not cause the change in load status.

You can try to kept load status in NV and restore it after power cycle.

Yes, load status already there in NV. Load status is maintained after the reset. But is there any possibility to prevent the device from reset.

If ZC is not available for longer time, ZR will go for reset forever, until other paired device present.

The following question may not be related to this query. But I want to clarify the behavior of the device in given scenario.

1. My ZR's LED will blink continuously upto 1 minute, until it found an ZC to pair. After 1min also ZR will search for ZC but blink won't be there(if not connected)

2. Now 2 devices(ZR) are paired with ZC and blink stop within a minute.

3.Then ZC made OFF.

4. Another switch(3rd switch) powered ON, this stop blink in 2 to 10 blinks.

Means the 3rd device able to join with other two devices which are paired already? if NO, what will be the actual thing going.

And It would be very helpful if any document shared related to this question.

You say you will stop led blinking until it found ZC to join. How do you judge this in your application code?

No, LED will blink for 1 minute, if there is no ZC. If ZC found within a minute, LED stops the blink.

My query is about the behavior of 3rd switch(ZR). Will it blink for a minute, since ZC is powered OFF ?

Or the 3rd device(ZR) will stop blink within a minute.

No it's not on logic.

In usual case what will happen, if a set of paired devices are there and ZC is powered OFF. What will happen if new ZR is powered ON?

Nothing will happen. ZR can work standalone unless it needs to send message to ZC.

Leave about LED blink.

3rd ZR will search for ZC or it will be connect with first set of devices?

Question is, The 3rd ZR will search for ZC continuously or it will connect with already formed network?

It won't search ZC and won't try to rejoin unless it wants to send some message to other nodes in the network.

Usually ZR will search for ZC continuously right? If ZR is not connected with any ZC.

If ZR had join a Zigbee network, it won’t search ZC after power cycle.

Incase if ZR not joined in network it will search.

I have confused with the answers or may be issue communicated wrongly.

It still depends on how you implement ZR. For example, if you enable HOLD_AUTO_START, ZR won’t do anything after power cycle.

Everything is fine.

But the confusion on the question I asked.

I asked that, I have two devices(ZR) which already connected, then ZC alone goes OFF. After that one more ZR(3rd device) powered ON( fresh new device). What will be the behavior of 3rd Device. Will it continuously check for ZC?

If it is TI ZR without HOLD_AUTO_START defined, it will continuously search for Zigbee network work to join.

HOLD_AUTO_START is not defined in my code. But ZR is not searching continuously. Why it is?

I see no reason why it doesn't send beacon request continuously. You can try to debug and trace why it doesn't keep doing beacon requests.
