I'm trying to implement SD card example given in CC2538 foundation firmware.While compiling I got an error saying 'Invalid core (ARM7TDMI) for this license'.What does that mean?

I don’t think you use IAR EWARM version. I suggest you to download IAR EWARM 7.40.2 from www.iar.com/.../ to test again.
