LP-CC2652RB: Z tool in Linux

Part Number: LP-CC2652RB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hi E2E,

Our customer has installed two versions of Z-Tool (Z-Tool.exe) and (setupztool1_0_0_2.exe) in a Linux environment and tried running Z-Tool.exe with Winecfg, but Winecfg was not enabled to configure and execute Z-Tool. The customer wants to send and receive ZNP commands as discussed in Zigbee Network Processor (ZNP) Interface. Need your help on this. Thank you.

Regards,
Carlo

  • Hi Carlo,

Z-Tool was only designed for Windows and was never intended to be run on Linux, and I don't have any experience with Winecfg.  As such I don't have any recommendations or suggestions on how to resolve the issue.  They can try consulting Linux forums for further assistance with running Windows-based applications.  They can also ask the Winecfg developers for ideas, but once again the request is not within this forum's expertise.  As all commands and packet formats are provided in the Monitor and Test API, perhaps the customer could further consider developing a more OS-friendly script/interface using Python.

    Regards,
    Ryan

  • Instead of using ZTool, you can run Z-Stack Linux GW reference design which can work with ZNP on Linux environment.
