Hi all,

I am very new at Zigbee and any related and is trying to establish a connection between the CC2531 and the Zigbee XB3-24Z8UM.
I am using Wireshark software to sniff out the data from the Zigbee however I am always stuck at Beacon Request.
I've read somewhere that I require a Coordinator to make the connection work, any advice such as software or any configuration?

Update: Another question on my mind is how can I establish a connection between 2 CC2531?

Hi Marcus,

Once you've downloaded Z-Stack 3.0.2, please read the Z-Stack 3.0 Developer's Guide from the Documents folder to learn more about Zigbee protocol. You can then further reference the Z-Stack 3.0 Sample Application User's Guide to understand how to form a network with a ZC and join ZR/ZED device through network steering using the BDB Specification. Sample applications for any node (ZC/ZR/ZED) are located in the Z-Stack 3.0.2\Projects\zstack\HomeAutomation directory and can be imported into IAR EW8051 10.20.1 in order to change network configurations (like channel) before building and loading onto your CC2531 device.

Try to refer to steps in https://sunmaysky.blogspot.com/2017/02/use-ztool-z-stack-30-znp-to-set-up.html to use Ztool/CC2531 ZNP to setup coordinator and enable permit join on the network to allow your XB3-24Z8UM to join.

Hi all,

I've followed the steps as per the blogspot with my two CC2531 and one is operating as a coordinator now and another as a router. I would like to check will the settings on Z-Tool 2.0 be gone the moment I closed the software?

The network information would be stored on CC2531 NV flash.
