CC2531: How can cc2531 send data to pc via serial port?

Hi all,

I am trying to send data from cc2531 USB dongle to windows, can anyone tell me how to do this? Now I can send a string from PC to the USB dongle, the USB dongle can get the string by run halUartRead(), and when I use halUartWrite() and try read serial port on PC, I get nothing.

Do you run ZNP on your CC2531 USB dongle and refer to Z-Stack Monitor and Test API.pdf to process MT command from your PC? By the way, I would suggest you to use Z-Tool to test your CC2531 USB dongle (running ZNP) to get familiar with MT/ZNP commands first.

Not really. I built my project based on the cc USB software example. I will check Z-Stack, thank you.

Hi Geoff,

I assume you have downloaded the CC USB Firmware Library and Examples and have loaded the ide/rfusb_cc2531/iar/rf_modem.hex to your CC2531 device. Make sure your serial port is using a 38400 baud rate and enables RTS/CTS. Further instructions are provided in the docs/swru222.pdf file.

Hi Ryan,

Thank you so much for your advices, I changed the baud rate to 38400 and enabled RTS and finally got “Hello World" on my PC.

If you use rf_modem example provided by Ryan, you can revise HAL_UART_BAUDRATE_38400 in "halUartInit(HAL_UART_BAUDRATE_38400, 0);" to HAL_UART_BAUDRATE_115200 and rebuild the binary to test again.
