CC2533: About RF4CE FW image

Hi team,

Due to CC2534 shortage, customer would like to use CC2531 or CC2530 to replace CC2534. Customer ask if their original FW (for CC2534) can be used directly on CC2531 or CC2530 ?

Besides, for the pre-built image inside the SDK "bin" directory, we provide FW for "RNP_CC2531F256". Could this one be used on CC2531F128 chip ?

Please help clarify. Thank you.

Our customer want to use CC2531/CC2530 to replace CC2534.

Could I update the image via bootloader by using the current CC2534 image?

new partnumbers: CC2531F128RHAR and CC2530F128RHAR

current used: CC2534F64

Hi Jerry,

You should be capable of using REMOTI v1.3.1 with the same APIs and pins so long as your project definitions are similar (please see documentation for communication protocol and flash size build differences), however you should compile a new binary for each device variant. There are CC2531F256 or CC2530F128 configuration options as shown in the RemoTI Network Processor Developer's Guide,

I did check check both REMOTI v1.3,1 and V1.4.0, I can not find the CC2531F128 in the rnp_cc2531.eww, only rnp_cc2530.eww have rnp_cc2530.eww have CC2530F128, can i you cc2530 to instead cc2531? please advise ..

Hi Barrel,

The rnp_cc2531.eww only supports the CC2531F256 since that is the variant provided on the CC2531EMK. You can attempt to recompile the project after replacing the Project Properties and command linker file for the correct memory map.
