SIMPLELINK-CC13XX-CC26XX-SDK: Product Information Request – Matter SoC’s

Part Number: SIMPLELINK-CC13XX-CC26XX-SDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1354P10, CC1354R10, CC2674R10, CC2674P10

To whom it may concern,

My name is Jon Rhees, from CA Engineering (caengineering.com). As an engineering services company, we help companies design in wireless solutions for their own products. I have been involved with Matter since the very beginning – in specification development as well as SW development and design-in for some of the first products to market. My focus currently is with Matter-over-Thread battery-based products.

Periodically we update our portfolio of technologies that we recommend to customers for new designs. As such, I am reaching out to you to gather information about you current and future Matter SoC offerings.

Specifically, I would like information on the following SoC’s you currently offer or that are on your road-map over the next several years:

  • BLE + Thread capable SoC
  • Supported (or soon-to-be) in current Matter SDK
  • SoC Family variations (larger memory, etc)

Matter-specific information about these SoC’s that I would also request, if possible:

  • Is the specified SoC currently supported by the Matter SDK, and if not, an ETA
  • What RTOS is used when used within Matter – e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, vendor-specific kernel, etc.
  • An estimate of current memory usage by Matter with a boilerplate Matter app (e.g., lighting-app) – this is to understand the approximate resource usage of the SoC

Additionally, any SoC families that extend into the WiFi space (for Matter) are of interest, although they are not the focus of the portfolio I am currently pursuing.

I would greatly appreciate any information you are able to provide – especially potential road-map information not detailed on your main website. As I previously stated, my goal is to be able to provide recommended platforms to our clients when initiating a new design.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.

Best Regards,

Jon Rhees
