Will the CC2520EMK operate fully on the CC1110-CC1111 DK?
Hi Brian,
Yes, this should be possible as long as you have the correct firmware on your SmartRF04EB that supports CC1110-CC1111DK. The firmware will detect CC2520.
Preferably CC2520EMK should be used with the SmartRF05EB.

I have bought cc2420MSP430ZDK. I have MSP430 experimenter boards with MSP430FG4618/ MSP430F2013 and separate CC2420EMK. Is there any application note directly on it. If I connect CC2420EMK on MSP430 experimenter board, the RF chip is not recognized on smartRF. I don't understand whats the problem.
Also I need z-stack for cc2420. Could you please help me in this regard.
Hi Morten,
What is the correct firmware for this configuration? Where can I find it?.. Thanks for your help!

Team,
We are still attempting to resolve this issue and cannot locate the proper FW to download into the CC2420 EB.
I found this post on updating the FW -
however, this does not appear to match up with SmartRFStudio 7 and I cannot locate the correct files on my laptop anywhere. Please advise, we're clearly missing something here.
Thanks,
John
Morton,
I've been playing with this using a SmartRF04 and a CC2520EM. It doesn't appear that the latest FW version supports the CC2520 on the SmartRF04. I found a forum post here: http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/155/p/15915/61224.aspx - from 3 years ago that seems to indicate that it isn't supported and the SmartRF05 board is required. However, this is with SmartRF Studio version 6.
Can I get a definite confirmation that SmartRF04 and CC2520EM will or will not work together? We need to get this customer moving and if he needs a different eval kit we need to get that going.
Thanks,
John
I have verified that the SmartRF04 and CC2520 will not work together. We can close this thread.
