Hi,

I want to know the answer of following query as i am using wireless application using Anaren A2530E24C module as mentioned below:

(1) How many Router or End device connect with single GW without any packet loss issue?

(2) Upto how many hops single GW respond correctly with Router device?

(3) What is the maximum distance of single hop (ie. one hop is of maximum how many meters)?

1. According to TI's application note Breaking the 400-Node ZigBee® Network Barrier With TI’s ZigBee SoC and Z-Stack™ Software, you can see they hit 400 nodes in their test. Since A2530E24C is based on CC2530, it should be able to have the same performace.

2. It is two times of MAX_NODE_DEPTH

3. It depends on your antenna performance. Normally, you can have 30 to 50 meters at least.

Hi Ronak,
While it may be possible to have hundreds of devices per gateway, more practically speaking you will want to limit this to about 100 devices, and put in more routers. That way when a Gateway gets disconnected or removed, the devices can fail over gracefully.
