Hello,
I have a question about how to make a ZigBee device discoverable by any hub using IAR embedded workbench 8051 or some other software. For example: I have a ZigBee dev board programmed with IAR 8051 that is just powered, and then my Smartthings hub will see it as a device and that's all. How would I accomplish such a task by programming? I've already tried the default Z-Stack Home 1.2.2 samples, so I'm wondering if there is any cold I need to change in the example SampleLight. Help is much obliged!

If nobody is able to figure this out, then are there any TI products that can do such a thing as making itself discoverable by any commercially available smart hubs. If so, could you please tell me the link and the source code for it doing so? Thanks.

No, you don't have to change hal_key.h.

I am glad to say it works. However SW_2 can't work since SW_2 and SW_6 both use P0_1. So I just used SW_6 for EZ-mode. Thank you very much YK Chen. So my next step is to control a relay instead of a led light. "Do you know which home automation program would be able to control a relay?" I was thinking of either SampleDoorLock or SampleSwitch. Below is the list of Home Automation programs.

You can use SampleLight to control a relay. Just replace the ON/OFF/Toggle light command to control a relay.

It's done in zclSampleLight_DisplayLight(). You can revise the following code to make relay change.

The relay works. However when I disconnect power from the CC2530 board and then plug it back in, the board resets and doesn't reconnect the to the Smartthings hub. "Why is this and how would I fix it to reconnect to Smartthings even though I disconnect and reconnect power?"

Well I'll figure out the previous question later.

"How do I get make the relay turn on and off faster when I press the button on the Smartthings app?" It keeps on saying turningOff and turningOn in between On and Off. "How would I get rid of those middle words?"

I think this is controlled by SmartThings hub and you cannot do anything to it. If you use SampleSwitch to control SampleLight, it would response immediately.

Ok. Back to the other question: "I don't understand your question. Can you explain it?"

Explanation: So I am here and I've double clicked NV_RESTORE (picture below). I clicked ok and uploaded, but there was no difference. So I went back to this step and am questioning what I need to do to apply NV_RESTORE?

You should remove "x" in front of your "NV_RESTORE" and build the SampleLight to test again.

I think this is about the default state of GPO which outputs low status so you should revise your HW to avoid this.

GPO means general purpose output. I don't know how you connect your relay to CC2530 so I don't know how to help you.

The easiest alternative is to reverse the define of ON/OFF. You can change it to DATA_PIN = 0 means ON and DATA_PIN = 1 means OFF to avoid this problem.

I think you have to trace source code from beginning and watch P_5 status to see what the problem is.

You can trace main function in ZMain.c and add P0_5 to your IAR debug watch to check its status when you debug line-by-line.

Ok. Thanks. Also, everytime I connect power to the board, the relay turns on and then off. I removed all the code for the relay and it still does that automatically. "Do you know why it's doing this and how I would fix it?"

Smartthings app. I don't believe the app makes the led react slow because I have a smart plug which reacts in 1 or less seconds.

Why? It should still join SmartThings Hub even you config it as Zigbee router.

Zigbee router receiver is turned on always so it can receive command immediately. Zigbee end device uses polling to receive data. The default polling rate of SampleLight is 1 second so there is delay for receiving command.

You can change "-DPOLL_RATE=1000" to "-DPOLL_RATE=100" in f8wconfig.cfg

Just a few things. What does HW stand for and what is it (something you mentioned earlier)? Also everytime I give power to the CC2530 board, 3 leds turn on. Which function and which file would I be able to disable these leds from ever turning on to save power?

HW stands for hardware. You can turn off those LEDs in SampleLight init function.
