CC2531: ZLL: Unable To Issue Scan Request

I am currently running the Sample Light Application from Z-Stack Lighting (Testing TouchLink Commissioning).

Upon startup, we are issuing an apsde_data_request whose payload contains the Inter-PAN Scan Request Frame. The packet is received by the MAC Layer (mcps_data_request) following which I am unable to see any packet generated as per sniffer logs.

Does the MAC need to be in a connected state in order to service the mcps_data_request or is there something that I am missing?

Are you using the CC2530ZDK-ZLL/CC2531ZLIGHT2-RD resources? If so then please refer to the following Wiki:

Are you able to see any other packets in your sniffer logs? Provide them if possible. Also refer to Section 3.3 of Z-Stack Lighting API, 5.3.9/5.4.7 of the 802.15.4 MAC API, and 5 of the Z-Stack Developer's Guide for more information. I believe you should take a different approach to the Touch Link Commissioning.

Hello Ryan,

For the Touch Link Commissioning, the initiator has to issue a Scan Request.

From the ZCL Layer, I am issuing an Inter-PAN Scan Request which is carried out through apsde_data_request. So, eventually, the 802.15.4 MAC would receive a command of MCPS_DATA_REQ from the upper layers rather than a MLME_SCAN_REQ.

What state should be MAC be in in order to service the MCPS_DATA_REQ? I am able to see my formed packet come till the mcps_data_request function but it is not transmitted over the air.

There are no other packets seen as per the sniffer logs.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the support.
After configuring the logical channel to 11, able to get the status success on MAC_MCPS_DATA_CNF &
also can see the scan request packet in the sniffer.
