we want to start zigbee application development

for that we are planning to purchase CC26x2R Wireless MCU LaunchPad™ Development Kit

anyone please share the range/distance covered by EVM and also cc2652R range for custom board

You can use RF-RANGE-ESTIMATOR to estimate the range and according to out test the line-of-sight test on LAUNCHXL-CC26x2R1 is about 50-60 meters.

You can use RF-RANGE-ESTIMATOR to estimate the range and according to out test the line-of-sight test on LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1 is about 50-60 meters running Zigbee protocol.

I need one more clarification.

My doubt is on EVM there is a PCB antenna .

if I use a patch antenna with 3.3db gain then can i expect range around 100 metres

Using a good antenna definitely improves distance but I am not sure if it can reach 100 meters. You have to test to know it,

It is possible to edit the range estimation excel file to change the antenna gain and update the link budget. However, antenna performance is dependent on several factors such as material around antenna, height and orientation of antenna, radiation pattern etc and the range might vary based on these factors.
