NWK Frame Control Field Content Query

Hi,

I've been looking through the Zigbee specification and have a query regarding the contents of the NWK Frame Control Field. Are the source/destination IEEE addresses required components in the network layer of a transmitted Zigbee packet or can these be omitted from this layer? My query specifically concerns unicasts, not broadcasts or multicasts.

    Hi Matthew,

    The source IEEE address is included in the NWK AUX Header.  Whether the source/destination address type (IEEE or short) is used in the NWK header is determined by bits in the frame control.  Short addresses are used by default.
