CC2530: Using Z-Stack Firmware in End-Product

Part Number: CC2530
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hi Team,

Our customer intends to release their development board products that uses the Z-stack Home 1.2.2a ZNP firmware provided in the Z-stack folder: C:\Texas Instruments\Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a.44539\Projects\zstack\ZAP\ZNP-HexFiles\CC2530/CC2530ZNP-Pro-Secure_LinkKeyJoin.hex.

The boards will be pre-flashed with the ZNP firmware. Just asking for for your inputs if it would be okay to use this firmware before they release the final products?

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,

Jejomar

  • Hi Jejomar,

The customer should be aware that Z-Stack HA 1.2.2a is an archived software product which is not recommended for new project development and their product cannot be certified by the Zigbee Alliance.  Z-Stack 3.0.2 is preferred as a newer solution which provides several bug fixes and feature improvements.  Otherwise there is no concern with them using the ZNP hex file provided.

    Regards,
    Ryan
