Hello,

We are using the zr_switch_ota_client example. As per the flashing sequence mentioned we have done all the steps. after that the UART shows like picture1. After that we disconnect the device from laptop and connect it again and accessing UART using putty. it shows picture 2 or blank. What are the problem please guide.

Note : bootloader is already flashed.

Do you use latest SDK 4.40? It seems that there’s something wrong with BIM off-chip to cause this issue but I haven’t had time to check how to fix it.

Yes i am using SDK 4.40. please guide i am stuck on that problem. doesn't understand where to change?

Hello Chintamani,

Be sure to load the bim_offchip_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_nortos_ccs.hex alongside zed_sw_ota_client_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs_oad.bin using UNIFLASH. Typically the issue you are experiencing is caused by the zr_sw_ota_client_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs.hex being loaded, which does not have the correct CRC information stored in the image header and is thus invalidated by the BIM. It will work immediately after the the initial run but then fail each successive restart.

I have tried all the steps and the zed example as you suggested but output is same. the problem is also with the zed example. please guide.

I try to use cc26x2r1lp_bim_offchip project in simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_30_00_54 and zed_sw_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs in simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_40_00_44. I can see it works. It doesn't work with cc26x2r1lp_bim_offchip project in simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_40_00_44. I would suggest you to use cc26x2r1lp_bim_offchip project in simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_30_00_54 to workaround this.

Hello Ryan and Yikai,

I have verify this case. its work fine but the other problem occurs please find attached image for the referance its showing zOTA failed in server side. and the firmware upgrade failed.

I suggest you to setup sniffer to check what happens over the air.

It seems there’s something wrong with your OTAimage size. You should check image size first.

Hi YK,

I have testing BIM off-chip and the Zigbee Switch OTA client End Device OTA client with the v4.40 SDK recently without issues. There were changes to the BIM in this quarter but they should not have affected ZED OAD operation. What problems are you observing?

If I use cc26x2r1lp_bim_offchip project in simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_40_00_44, it would load default BLE ProjectZero in external flash instead of running zed_ota_sw

Thanks for the details YK, this implies that the BIM is invalidating the on-chip ZED SW OTA client image. I will further check this behavior when able.

Hi YK,

I did not experience any issues after loading the SDK v4.40 bim_offchip_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_nortos_ccs.hex (debug unsecure) alongside zed_sw_ota_client_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs_oad.bin in Uniflash. The Zigbee CUI runs as expected and is persistent across resets. I recommend that you revert any changes you made to either project and consider re-installing the SDK.
