BT-MSPAUDSINK example CCS projet unavailable in SSO BT Stack V1.4 R1

Hi,

I ordered a BT-MSPAUDSINK evaluation module and the documents provided with the kit states that the example code is in:

[DRIVE]\ti\Connectivity\CC256X BT\CC256x MSP430 Bluetopia SDK\v1.4 R1\MSP430_Experimentor\Samples\A3DPDemo_SNK

But this project is for a MSP430F5438A and the one one the evaluation module is a MSP430F5229.

Is there another location where I can download the example code for this kit?

Hi,

The MSPAUDSINK is only supported with IAR and is not supported with CCS. To try the A3DPDemo_SNK on the MSPAUDSINK you must use IAR. A fully featured 30 day trial is available on their website.

Hi, I downloaded the IAR workbench and opened the sample project, but I still have a problem. The MSP430s don't match:

Project : MSP430F5438a

Board (MSPAUDSINK) : MSP430F5229

Also, why is there a CCS project for A3DP in the Bluetopia package if it's not supported?

Hi,

Please choose the Debug/Release A3DP SNK configuration from the drop down menu in the workspace tab on IAR. This is the configuration for the MSP430F5229 board. A3DP Profile is supported on CCS but specifically A3DP on the MSP430F5229 is not supported.

Hi,

Why is it not supported by CCS ? Is there any technical reason ?

I tried to port the code to CCS but it seems that IAR compiler is doing a better job to compile the stack because I can't fit it in flash when it is compiled by CCS.

Any advice ?

Hi,

Same reason you have observed.

The CCS compression is not as good as IAR, so the output binary size exceed the flash size and does not fit in to the audio sink board.
