CC2564B, Android BLE connection problem

We get some problem to get BLE connection with most Android devices that we tried (from 8 different Android devices we tried, it works only on Samsung Galaxy Tab S with Android 5.0).

Suspecting our application, we returned to the original PxpDemo on the STM324xG eval board and we got the same problem. There is some communication on the HCI channel but the Android device indicates that the BLE device is disconnected.

We have tried with several Android generic BLE tools applications with the same results. We see the PxpDemo when we scan but we fail to connect to it. We succeeded to connect all the same Android devices with a Cypress BLE evaluation board.

We used Bluetopia v4.0.2.1 and the CC2564B SP is 1.2.

Hi Eric,

Please confirm what type of connection (BT classic or BLE) is the Android device requesting with the CC256x device.
You can try either of the below and see if it helps

1. On the Android side, use "connectGatt" with "transport = TRANSPORT_LE"
2. Use "HCI_LE_ADVERTISING_FLAGS_BR_EDR_NOT_SUPPORTED_FLAGS_BIT_MASK" in the advertising flags (instead of HCI_LE_ADVERTISING_FLAGS_GENERAL_DISCOVERABLE_MODE_FLAGS_BIT_MASK).

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you have a specific Android OS or API version requirement for this code transport fix? KitKat, LollyPop, or Marshmallow. We do need this solution to work with KitKat.
