CC2541 Timers/PWM and Power Saving Features

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

I'm having some issues implementing PWM on the CC2541 when I have the power saving features enabled. I took another step back and looked at the timer functionality and it's the timer interval that changes with the power saving features (behaves as expected with power saving disabled, screwy with enabled). I'm assuming this has to do with the fact that the system clock source changes when in lower power modes and the timer tick rate is based on the system clock source. I'm also assuming this issue is a common one (PWM and power savings together) so either someone else has dealt with or I'm doing something wrong; has someone dealt with this and can help explain the issue and how to circumvent? I need power saving so just disabling and moving on is not an option.

Thanks - John

  • Hello John,

You are correct in your analysis.

This issue has Ben dealt with many times on the forum.  A quick search would have revealed the following excellent post
