Programming CC2541

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, CC2530

Are there any inexpensive alternatives to IAR Workbench? We are looking to program CC2541 and see if it meets our needs. It's a bummer that TI doesn't help developers who want to program the CC2541. It's not enough to have an iOS SDK to talk to CC2541.

Thanks,

Abhinav

  • Abhinav,

Currently our Bluetooth Low Energy stack does require you to use IAR because the libraries we have are developed in IAR and only work in IAR. However, if your requirements does not include BLE then we have actually been using SDCC for a while too for 6LoWPAN based projects.

    http://sdcc.sourceforge.net/

SDCC in versions above 8800 work pretty well for our CC2530/CC254x series devices, but I have not been able to get the in circuit debugging feature that is available in IAR to work using SDCC.

  • This is a downside of using BLE stack on CC254x. TI should provide BLE stack for CCS but no. Never understand why not.

  • Hi

I'm currently editing a PCB  with the CC2541 as BLE Module.
What pins of the CC2541 do I have to connect outside for programming using a smart RF05 board?

    Best Regards
