My sensortag won't start after firmware update 1.5. The D1 led doesn't blink, and I cannot establish connection with it neither from my iPhone, nor from my Macbook. Before the update it just worked fine from both device. At the end of the update, I could see the "update was successful" popup, so I don't know what's the problem now. Is there anything I can do or my sensortag is bricked?

Hi David,

I haven't seen that particular issue. The upgrade is checked with CRC, so it's probably not an issue there if you saw the "successful" popup. If a fresh battery doesn't do the trick, please send let me know and I'll arrange something.

Thank you for answering, and yes, I even tried with a brand new battery and still nothing. So have you got any suggestions?

Hi Peder,

I am also having this same problem. My sensor tag does not turn on anymore and I have tried new batteries. I already ordered a new one 2 days back as I need it for an experiment, but would like to revive the dead one or receive a replacement if possible.

Hi all,

If your sensortag is CC2541, please program sensortag by flash programmer with following hex
C:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.4.1.43908\Accessories\HexFiles\CC2541DK_BIM_SensorTagOadImgA.hex

If your sensortag is CC2650, please program sensortag by flash programmer-2 with following hex
C:\ti\simplelink\ble_cc26xx_2_01_00_44423\Accessories\HexFiles\CC2640_SensorTag.hex

Suddenly my sensortag also stopped working. It does not turn on anymore. Did anyone succeed resolving this issue?

Hello YK Chen,

Unfortunately the sensortag does nothing, it does not connect to the SimpleLink app. I've tried with new batteries.

Do you try to download prebuilt SensorTag FW to your SensorTag and test again?

I suppose for that I would need a SimpleLink SensorTag Debugger DevPack which I don't have at the moment. I've ordered a DevPack and will try as soon as I receive it.

I'm unable to download the pre build FM as I can't find it. If've already downloaded the BLE-STACK-2-2-1 from www.ti.com/tool/ble-stack.

Hello YiKai Chen,

I've managed to flash with C:\ti\simplelink\ble_sdk_2_02_01_18\examples\hex\cc2650stk_sensortag_rel.hex file and now the sensortag is working again. I still need to figure out how to upgrade to latest version of FM (1.51). With the SimpleLink app (iphone) the upgrade is not working.

When I test it last time, it works without problem. I will test it again when I can access to my CC2650STK.

I think you see the same issue discussed in e2e.ti.com/.../1887395 . FW 1.51 is for CC2541 SensorTag not CC2650STK. Before TI releases a fix, you can try OAD by TI BLE Device Monitor PC application.

Hi,

You are right, it was the wrong firmware. Here is how I was able to resolve my issue and flash the correct FW.

1. From dev.ti.com open TI Resouce Explorer and search for CC2650 SensorTag
2. From the Software section click on SensorTag and import it to CCS Cloud. There you should have 2 projects (SensorTag and SensorTagStack)
3. Build and run the projects. The order is important. First you should click on SensorTagStack -> run and after that run the SensorTag.

Now the iOS app is able to detect the SensorTag and even able to do OAD.
