Hi everyone,

1º) I am trying to make an apllication that allows to send parameters from the mobile phone to the cc2540 chip via BLE, but I am quite new to these kind of issues. Can you tell me if there is any sample project available that allow me to connect the mobile with the cc2540(as "simple" as that)? Some references to have information about the kind of message that I should listen to or similar?

2º) When I receive the parameters from the mobile phone I have to send it through UART. I am using the SmartRF05 EB and debugging the cc2540 externally through the P18 and P20 modules, dedicated for Debug connectors. Any project which help me to do that?

Hi,

Since you don't mention which phone - you can use any existing app such as LightBlue or the TI MultiTool or SensorTag apps to debug / send some simple data to a connected BLE device.

Start off by putting SimpleBLEPeripheral on the device and connect with any of these apps. You can then look at the characteristics that are exposed over BLE, and send parameters to these.

You can also look at the source for the CC2541 SensorTag app for Android: git.ti.com/sensortag-android

Hi Aslak,

I am using the Sony Xperia LT3Op so I think LightBlue isn´t available , isn´t it?

No it isn't. But the SensorTag app is possibly useful - or other BLE exploration apps - I don't really know which ones are the best for Android, sorry.

Hi,

I want to send a data value from mobile app, to my CC2650 controller. I have created a service with a characteristics having read and write permission. i want to write a value to this characteristic via LightBlue App and see this value on the same app.how it can be possible. I could a value with another characteristic having notify proeprty whenever i pressed a key on keyboard. but this was done by using get/set functions. How can i write a value from mobile, and read that value ?? is there any example? can anyone please explain...its URGENT

Hi,

You want to read back the same value that you just wrote? GATT_WriteReq(handleA, valueA) --> cc2640 and then GATT_ReadReq(handleA) --> cc2640 --> GATT_ReadRsp(handleA, valueA) ?

In that case, the characteristic must be both read- and writeable. I would suggest you look at SimpleBLEPeripheral, the PROFILES/simpleGATTprofile.c there. Characteristic 1 has this behavior.
