I have worked with the CC1110/CC1111 parts on a project using SimpliciTI but transferred everything over to a client (parts, boards, etc). Would love the opportunity to carry on developing and move what I learned from using these parts over to a Contiki build. Thanks for consideration.

Hi LPRF,

We are also looking for a port of Contiki for CC1120DK platform. Is there any documentation on how to get started on this? The way I see it, the CPU is already supported (msp430f5438) the radio CC1120, I did not find in the existing source.

We have one more requirement, this DK comes with radio on a daughter board and we also have a CC1101 radio on a compatible daughter board. We ideally would like to plug this into the DK and experiment with it. Do you think it would be possible?

I'm interested in a sub-GHz port of Contiki. I've seen some progress in the mist repository but I don't know the porting state. Please share any information you might have and let me know if I could sum effort for the porting.

Please recommend me which platform to buy.

Hi Leonardo,

If you want a full Contiki port the best way is to go with the CC1120DK.

The mist fw source contains a Contiki port for cc1120dk, Some time ago I compiled mist 1.1.0 out of the box with mspgcc 4.7.0, but another supported compiler could work anyway.

hi Attilio,

I have mist 1.1.0 and am trying to compile it in ccsv4 but must be doing something wrong. is there anyway you could let me know what i need to do to set up ccs and what files i have to include so that i can get contiki compiled and onto an msp430? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert,

I think the only toolchains that works out of the box are mspgcc 4.7.0 and IAR.

I'm not a ccs user, perhaps someone that know ccs could give some better details.

Thank you, very informative however we have been using code composer for years we dont want to give up the debugging capabilities and are hoping it can be included and compiled on code composer. is this possible? and if so what are the different steps i need to take to make it happen.

There are work in progress to update/develop the drivers for CC1120 in Thingsquare version of Contiki. I expect a new release from Thingsquare soon, let me check with the team and come back with a time line.

Hi - we will release it as open source.. this week we tested the z1-websense app over a 3km then to a 1km hop/link to a node (Zolertia Z1 plus CC1120) in Scotland. We are still tuning RPL and the driver though see:

I encourage everyone to contrikbute to Contiki, by pushing additions/enhancements to the main GitHub repo!

From what I understand from the Thingsquare team they will push the CC1120 drivers to Contiki.

I am not aware of any cc1120 drivers in main Contiki yet, BUT there is a well tested cc1200 driver:

Hi Firefighter. Where I'm at is I have a bunch of boards with an MSP430F5418 and a CC1120. I've brought up the supplies and jtag circuit ok. And I can run my custom application on the uP. So electrically it's all good. I'm now trying to work out how to implement the networking side. And then I came across contiki. It seems perfect. I'm building a mesh network with one gateway per network and up to 500 battery powered nodes reporting daily or less. With tiny payloads. I've gone with ccs as it seemed logical for msp430 dev. What direction would you point me to getting something up and running quickly. Like enough to prove the tool chain and go from there. I come from an FPGA/ASIC background so I'm still on the learning curve. I know C and some c++ and java etc. But its not my day job and I'm clueless about the back end toolchains. If you'd be kind enough to offer some advise, assume that I'm fairly dumb.
