CC2530/40 discrete balun tuning

From the customer:

I've found the TI CC2530/40 reference design, where the Ls and Cs have values in the schematics, but need to know how to tune those values for a specific PCB design. I imagine that the specific layout, as well as the board stack-up, will affect the optimal values of those components. Typically there is a "tuning guide" application note that defines the procedure for optimization - but I haven't been able to find it.

Any thoughts?

In the end, for the optimization, we go in the lab and can look at the antenna port with a network analyzer to see how it looks and then change balun components to try to improve sensitivity and output power (and reduce harmonics and spurious emissions). A lot of the final tuning is empirical, going up and down one size on the inductors and caps in the network after seeing that the network analyzer shows us being close. Tedious, but can wring out that last dB or two.
