CC2540 USB Dongle not recognized by Windows (XP and 7)

I have pluged my dongle on my "Windows XP" and " Windows7" and nothing is happening :(

I have downloaded the last drivers 1.1.a and tried to manually install the driver.

When I check the installed driver on Windows Device Manager, the device Status is "This device cannot start (code 10)"

Any help / support to have this dongle working on my PC ?

What is the Windows Version required (Is Window XP OK) ?

Hi Fred,

Have you programmed the USB Dongle with the right firmware? Try cc2540_ble1.1_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_Master.hex located in the default install directory C:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC2540-1.1a\Accessories\Hex_Files.

After flashing with the cc2540_ble1.1_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_Master.hex, the dongle is detected.

Is there any programming required for detecting the dongle or you did something else?

Hi,

It depends what you did with the dongle? If it's an out-of-the-box, then it already should be programmed.

However, if you not sure whether it's programmed with suitable FW you may program it by yourself.

Hello Amey,

There is no programming required for detecting the dongle. You will need to load the firmware (.hex file above) into the device using SmartRF Programmer or the IAR IDE and the CCDebugger if it fails to be detected.

Check to make sure that if you are using a USB cable there are no issues with it.

Actually I am not able to find the .hex file in the BLE stack software. I have a file CC2541_SmartRF_HostTestRelease_All and it is in .txt format. So can you kindly provide me with some more details regarding the same?
