"Error[e16]: Segment ISTACK (size: 0xc0 align: 0) is too long for segment definition. At least 0xe more bytes needed. I found a solution in another posting: That solution might let you compile but a TI person corrected that solution last week on a similar thread: What to look for in the old versions of the .xcl files is where virtual registers are placed: -Z(DATA)VREG+_NR_OF_VIRTUAL_REGISTERS=08-7F How it must look in 8.30 and later versions: -Z(DATA)VREG =08-7F This command will fix all the linker files if you run it on the ble stack root directory: find . |grep "xcl$" |xargs sed -i "s/+_NR_OF_VIRTUAL_REGISTERS//" By removing the _NR_OF_VIRTUAL_REGISTERS from the .xcl files I got it to compile.

I can confirm this fixes the linker errors in IAR EW V8.30.1. Thanks!

Hi,

I can't follow your instructions. Where can I find this .xcl file?
This command find . |grep "xcl$" |xargs sed -i "s/ is not working on my windows system...

Could somebody please help me out?

Hi,

You will find the .xcl files in the "c:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.3.2\Projects\ble\common\cc2540\" directory.

The command you are using is a Linux command.

This solution indeed removes the error. Check under Project Options -> Linker -> Linker Configuration File, to see what file you are using. Just be sure to write "-Z(DATA)VREG=08-7F" without any spaces in there.

Hi ,

I am trying to run the sample project "SimpleBLECentral" but have an issue while compiling. It gives an error "Fatal Error[e72]: Segment SLEEP_CODE must be defined in a segment definition option (-Z, -b or -P) "
what can I do to fix it?
I am using "IAR ver 8.3" and am using "CC2540DK ver 1.8.1.3" with "CC2540F256_banked " is the linker file .
Please help me with this.

For those who are using windows - replace this file at Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.4.0\Projects\ble\common\cc2540\ti_51ew_cc2540b.xcl with this one:
