CC2540 not frequency hopping?

Does this development kit perform frequency hopping when using the TiSmart RF software to monitor the PER/RSSI? As far as I can tell it just sits on a selected channel and transmits. Is there a way to enable frequency hopping with this kit or is it unsupported?

    Peripheral and broadcaster device advertise on up to 3 dedicated advertising channels. It is only when a connection is established that devices will hop between all other available channels

    I connected two ble nodes from the kit together using the TISmartRF Software and set it to transmit/receive infinite packets. It did not hop and just sat on the channel the software was set to.
