CC2640 Multi-Role Sample Code - Build Error

I can't build the sample code that I downloaded from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Cc2640_MultiRole_Demo. Date code is April 14-2015.

These are some obvious errors in the sample code:

identifier "gapRole_ConnectionHandle" is undefined in multi.c
identifier "peripheral_state" is undefined in multi.c
identifier "state" is undefined in multi.c

Is there a release that is error free?.

Hi Bryan,

I just confirmed it builds correctly with IAR 7.30.4 using the default patch. Did the patch get applied according to the directions in the wiki? Did you change any Preprocessor options?

I've attached a patch here which will add a CCS version of the MultiRole project. If you apply this patch to a fresh 2.0.0 install, you can find the projects at $INSTALL$\Projects\ble\SimpleBLEMulti\CC26xx\CCS. Note that the project is called simpleBLEPeriphal. This is because I can't get it to compile when I rename it to simpleBLEMulti:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/538/Multi-CCS-patch.zip

You can follow the steps from 2.5.3 of the software developer's guide to import the project to CCS. The only difference is that you should use version 6.1.0 of CCS.

Hi Tim:
I don't know what's wrong with multirole project in my side, it is nothing on display when i debug by IAR or download the .hex files by use programmer. But, it is work good when i download the "simpleBLEMulti.bin" by use programmer.
And, IAR workbench V7.40.2.8570 which i using.

Hey,
I downloaded the zip file and followed the path which was shown in the software developer guide.
I got the following error while building the Program.
Can you please help me out in this??

You should be using the code from github: github.com/.../ble-sdk-210-extra

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the link. It helped me a lot but still i'm facing this errors.

"1) gmake: *** No rule to make target `C:/Profiles/Roles/CC26xx/multi.c', needed by `PROFILES/multi.obj'.

Please help me out through this also.

I don't know what the problem is. This project has been verified to work out of the box dozens of times.

I would check the SDG to ensure all your environment variables are the same (IAR version, stack version, etc):

Hi, I have the same problem with multi_role
"1) gmake: *** No rule to make target `C:/Profiles/Roles/CC26xx/multi.c', needed by `PROFILES/multi.obj'.
and I haven't changed anything. I tested SimpleBLEPeripheral and it works with no errors.

When I open the project I get a warning about unresolved buildable linked resources?
Any Idea what it could be?

Hey,
You need to add the profile into the linked resource which you can find in:
Properties --> Build---> Arm Complier---> Include Option

Along with that paste the Multi.c and multi.h into Profile/roles/cc26xx
and include that option into the Program.
it will then work fine

Hi, that worked perfectly but now I run into another problem. When I try to debug it on the Simplelink Sensortag, the board gets stuck in a loop and the UNDEFINSTR register is set, any idea whats causing it?

As stated in the MultiRole documentation (https://github.com/ti-simplelink/ble-sdk-210-extra/tree/master/Projects/ble/multi_role), the project requires buttons and LCD's and is thus designed for the SmartRF + EM hardware; not the sensor tag.

Hey Tim,
I am using Multi Role on Sensor Tag and Its Working fine Over there.
The Changes Need to make is change the Board file according to sensor tag and Disable the LCD Feature fro predefined Symbols.

up to now, I also spent much time to solve the build error on CC2650 Launchpad.

finally, I realized how to configure to avoid the errors.

[Picture 1] is depicting that the TI BLE SDK BASE should be assigned to your SDK folder.

[Picture 2] is depicting that the Linker Command File doesn't have any files.
