CC2650STK movement data issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, UNIFLASH

Hello all,

I want to "reopen" this thread's topic:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/538/t/425511#pi239031348filter=all&pi239031348scroll=false&pi239031348=1

In the SimpleLink SensorTag (with the CC2650 MCU) movement data freezes due to some issue with the coin cell (battery). I am working with this SensorTag in a project that should be finished in the end of this month July, so I really need that FW revision that can solve the problem, or otherwise I will need to change to another sensor.

As far as I don't need the other measures (luxometer, pressure, humidity etc) I also wanted to know how can I switch those sensors off in the current FW code (maybe and only maybe that could solve the first problem, but I don't really think so).

I guess the first question is exclusively for TI employees while the second one can be answered by anyone.

Thank you all in advance!

Regards

Borja Velasco

  • Hello,

I'm checking on the status of the updated FW. Please stay tuned.

    Best wishes
  • Hello JXS,

I would really need to have some feedback about this, at least about possible FW release timing. On it could depend the purchase of another 6-8 SensorTags or changing to another sensor. I understand it may be a complicated issue but I need some info at least.

    Thanks!

    Regards

  • Hello Borja,

I'm informed that the movement data freeze issue has been addressed in SensorTag 2.0 FW v1.12, which is available in the latest iOS & Android apps. Can you try?

    Best wishes
  • Hello JXS,

I downloaded "BLE SensorTag" app Revision 2.3 (the latest one) yesterday and there is not the OAD programming option that there was in the Revision 2.2. I don't understand if this is what you were meaning.
I do have a SensorTag DevPack and Uniflash 3.3 so could you please post a link to the FW Revision 1.12 so that I can program it on the SensorTag and try? Because I can't find it.
    Thanks

    Regards

  • Hello JXS,

Can you please tell me where to find the SensorTag 2.0 FW Revision 1.12?
Why is not avaliable anymore in the app 2.3 version (for Android 4.3 and 4.4) the OAD programming service?
Please, I need help. As said I have the DevPack and the CCS and Uniflash, with those elements and if you can tell me where the 1.12 FW Revision is I can program it and try, right?

    Regards

  • Hello Borja,

I know FW v1.12 is in the iOS v4.2 SensorTag app. Let me check on the Android app.

    Best wishes
  • Thanks,

In the meantime I will try to find an iOS device and open the v4.2 SensorTag app, but please let me know about the other too.
Sorry for the many questions but as said I am working in a "real work" (for a third part) with this sensor.

  • Hello JXS,

I have downloaded the SensorTag App for iOS version 4.2. I scan and find my SensorTag 2.0. When I connect and the service discovery ends, I see a message that says "old fw version detected, please update fw" with two options, ignore and update. If I press update nothing seems to happen, it shows the sensors and usually after a while it disconnects from SensorTag. If I press ignore, the same. I get the "old fw" message everytime, so the firmware is not updated. Tried in two iOS systems, iPhone 5 (iOS version) and iPad (iOS version 8.1.2).

Should the FW update when I press "update" button or do I have to do something that I am missing? Again, I can't find OAD SERVICE in this app.

    Regards

  • Hi JXS,

You have mentioned that the issue has been addressed. I am sure there is some kind of a change in the SensorTag_Mov.c file. Could you please let us know the fix so that we don't really have to wait till TI pushes out the whole new SDK?

Just a patch file, or just the delta would suffice!
  • Hello JXS;

As said in other thread, the FW Revision 1.12 works fine. I could upload the sensors via the app's OAD programming tool and via Uniflash and the DevPack.

    Thanks and regards
