Hi all,

I faced an issue about debugger and the cc2531 dongle, The led is red even if I connect the dongle. The devices are detected by windows so I see them under cebal controlled devices but I can not see them on Flash programmer. I updated the cc debuger's firmware on flash studio, I see the debugger but I can not see the dongle on the connected devices list on flash studio.

I checked the connection and I tried with anothe dongle, the result is same.

I have to connect the dongle because the I need to flash 'cc2531-slip-radio_contikimac' hex file to the dongle since its not listed under the dev path on Contiki.

Do you have another CC2531 or CC2530? If so, you can connect CC Debugger to another CC2531/CC2530 to verify if CC Debugger works fine.

I have already tried with a second cc2531 the result is same, the led is red.

Hi Dudu,

Could you please attach a photo of your setup?

I think your cc2531 is not getting power while connected to debugger.

Try to reverse the cable on CC2531.

I got it from my teacher so I did not use it for first time. I will ask about it . So you think the debugger is problematic?

If the LED doesn't turn green, it is problematic.

I tried with another 3. dongle and its green now. But still its not detected by rf flash programmer but its detected by rf studio.

I download the old version of the flash programmer and it worked and flashed the dongle with the cc2531-slip-radio_contikimac hex file but now packet sniffer do not detect it any more.

Since you program CC2531 with slip radio hex file, it cannot be used as sniffer. If you intend to use sniffer, you have to program sniffer FW to it.
