Windows 7 does not recognize TI Simplelink SensorTag DevPack, XDS110

Hi,

By mistake, I had asked this question in the TI-RTOS. Re-asking this question in the right forum.

I recently obtained the XDS110 (TI Simplelink SensorTag DevPack) to program my CC2640 device, based on our internal design. I have both IAR 7.40.2 and Code Composer v6.1.3 installed on my Windows 7 system.

When I plug in the USB end into my Windows system, Windows is not able to recognize the XDS110 board as shown below:

Is this to be expected? I was under the impression that the installation of Code Composer would automatically install drivers for the XDS110. I tried reinstalling all the emulation drivers again, but still the same problem.

How do I fix this issue? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Try to download and install latest XDS110 Emulation Software Package from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../XDS_Emulation_Software_Package

Thanks for responding to my post.

I uninstalled the old drivers and then installed the new emulation package. Windows 7 can't seem to find a driver:

Try to install flash programmer 2 and test again.

I tried what you suggested, by installing SmartRF Flash Programmer 2, but no luck.

Try to read processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Debug_DevPack_User_Guide and see if you miss anything.

Hi YiKai,

It looks like this problem was due to the corruption in theUSB drivers on my Windows 7 system.

I essentially deleted all the USB drivers on my Windows 7 laptop, by uninstalling all USB devices from Device Manager. After that I performed "Scan for Hardware changes" in Device Manager and Windows automatically reinstalled all the drivers for non-TI devices. I did a repair of my IAR 7.40.2 to reinstall the Dongle Drivers and TI Emupack. I then reinstalled SmartRF Flash Programmer 2. On plugging the XDS110 board into the laptop, Windows 7 happily installed the drivers for it. Though I haven't tried programming any CC2640 device, I don't foresee any issues.
