Hi Ti,

Is there a white paper that replaces An068 or is comparable to it; as I’ve recently found out that An068 can be a bit confusing.

  • Dr.Muh,

Sorry there is not, we found that appnote was a little confusing so we have decided to remove it.

We typically recommend 4 layer PCB designs and then it offers the possiblilty to stay with or close to our suggested layer spacing for the top layer and the second layer. If you go thinner, you need to recalculate the impedance for the 50 Ohm traces, but not much more. However if you go thicker, the inductance of the GND via's start becoming a factor in your designs. Careful design and also careful tuning after you get the prototypes back can typically fix any issues found.

  • Thank you. That was truly helpful.

In regards to magnetic fringing . Is there a white paper that goes in to detail about VEctor Network Analyzer and magnetic fringing.
  • No, sorry.
